Teach poor kids that need you now. Save them now. Urban Teach Now.

Urban Teach Now is an elite non-profit teaching program providing educational justice to impoverished, diverse, derelict, defunct and, frankly, doomed areas in the U.S. With only 5% of applicants accepted, UTN is more competitive than Stanford's JD/MD/MBA program (which we have connections to if you are trying to get in).

Team Highlights

Maya Yoo, Program Director

"Be the change you wish to see in the world." That's my favorite quote.

- Maya Yoo, Program Director, New Orleans

Pete Spector, Teacher of the Week

I didn't think I'd ever in a million years become a teacher, but I'm fucking killin it here at UTN. Goldman can go suck it. I'm a public service worker now, asswipes.

- Pete Spector, New Orleans Corp '18

Vincent Cho, 1st year Corp Member

I love cocaine. I didn't know how much I loved cocaine until I joined UTN. It wakes me up before 1st period and it helps me lesson plan at night for my Math, English, and Science classes. I think I'm depressed, but I think it's worth it. I put the needs of America first.

Testimonials from the "kidz"

Ms. Gilford, my UTN teacher, incorporates rap music into her lessons! Sometimes it helps me learn, but mostly it makes me want to punch her in the face.
— Leshanique Monet, 12th grade, MLK High School
“My UTN teacher, Ms. Son taught a 90 minute lesson on how much black adults make compared to white adults. This made me really sad. Now I do my homework and no longer talk back to my teachers. I think when I grow up, I'd like to be white.

-- Deveney Simmons, 11th grade, Holly Hill High School
